This weekend was round four of the LIKC Summer Championship at Lydd.
The weather was dry for testing on Saturday so we went about our usual plan of set-up and testing. It was going to be a tricky one because the forecast for Sunday is wet so had to bear that in mind with our set-up.
Race day is very very wet. It didn’t stop raining all day, so for the first time in a while at Lydd we were in full wet set-up and Jacob was loving the conditions. In practice we only went out to make sure everything was working correctly.
In qualifying, Jacob put the kart on pole position. Race one we made a good start, held our line and came out of the first corner in first place. Jacob pushed on to lap most of the field and win the race.
The pre-final we started pole and lead from start to finish, set the fastest lap of the race, putting us on pole position for the grand final.
The grand final start was exactly the same, Jacob held his line, made a great start and lead the field into turn one. He lead the whole race to cross the line in first position, giving us our second race weekend win in a row.
You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend. Pole, three wins and fastest lap in each race…. a clean-sweep earning us the maximum points of 100.
Next weekend we are at it again down in Sittingbourne for round four of the BMKR Summer Championship.
