This was our fourth visit to PFI in recent months. We were testing lots of different kart set-ups. We found a set-up that worked really well for us resulting in a good day. We got faster and faster in each session and ended the day setting a personal best and that was on well used tyres that have done two previous race weekends and two test sessions, so we couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a brand new year and what better way to start it than to get out for the 2023 Buckmore Park New Year Shakedown test. As predicted, the weather was wet and cold but we didn’t let that stop us. We now have a few weeks before we kick off our first Championship of 2023 and the kart will be prepped ready for round 1. We can’t wait to get started. Click here to read full article
After two championship weekends of karting down and Lydd and Bayford Meadows we could have taken this week off to rest…. but not us, we headed up to PFI for a test day. The temperature was cold but dry. The test day went well, the kart and driver performed well and ended the day four seconds quicker than we started. Click here to read full article
Straight off the back of a podium finish at Lydd last weekend we headed up north for a private test session at Fulbeck Track Circuit. The circuit was privately hired by three of us and as we had the whole circuit to ourselves so could do anything we wanted to. I got a lot of track time and got some good seat time. Today marked the official support from my school, JHS & Zenith Trust. As a result their logos now proudly appear on the front of my kart. I got out of a maths lesson for a photoshoot with the head, my kart and some of my trophies as part of an article being published soon about my journey, future plans and the role schools can play in sport.

Jacob Hobbs Racing is proud to announce a new sponsor for our 2022 season…. Demon Tweeks. We are so excited to be racing with their support, which will be shown on our kart, social media and drivers helmet. 2022 looks to be an exciting season of racing, competing in the IKR Championship, BMKR Championship, The Kent Cup and Brentwood race league.
It’s half-term this week and we have been working hard testing and improving the kart. In 4 days we have tested at 3 different circuits: Lydd, Buckmore Park & Bayford Meadows. We’ve completed 370 laps, which was 276 miles. Clocking up all that track time was really useful, we learnt a lot, had a lot of fun, worked hard and have implemented a few additional changes to the kart ready for the next race in a few weeks.
Today was an Owner Driver test day down at Lydd, so we headed down to get some practice in before the next round of the IKR championship next weekend.
The conditions are perfect for testing as I got to drive on wets and slicks. We also tried a few different set-ups to see what works best. It was a great day and was nice to see the Lydd team. As alway they are so welcoming and helpful.
