Today is round 6 of the championship and my last one in this category for a couple of weeks as I miss the next two rounds due to commitments in the next rounds of the IKR Rotax and BMKR Rotax championships in my own kart.
Qualifying went well, I qualified on pole position. I made a good start in race 1 to hold my position, had a great clean battle with Ben Yiangou throughout the race, he managed to get past and I finished 2nd.
The top 3 finishers of race one start at the back of the grid for race 2, so I started 9th. I had an ok start, fought hard and ended up finishing 4th. It was a very competitive group at the front and I like that because it pushes me to drive the best I can, I prefer to be in a group with strong drivers than a group where there isn’t a challenge.
I made it into the A final, which keeps my consecutive run going. I started 6th on the grid. I had a good start, fought hard, some drivers were a little dirty but I give back what I’m given, made up some places and drove well. Finished the race 3rd, but got slapped with an inconsistent ABC on the last lap so finished 5th overall.
Looking forward to getting back in my kart in a few days for the next couple of weeks of Rotax Championships.
