It’s the final round, round 3, of the BMKR Winter Championship.
Saturday practice was a very wet day, not very helpful for prepping the kart for Sundays races as Sunday is due to be dry. However it is good practice so we headed out with our wet tyres on and had a successful day of wet weather testing.
There is no warm-up at Bayford so we headed straight out to qualify on a drying track on slick tyres. The best we could manage was 11th.
The first race ended in the same position as I started in 11th, so not a lot to report really. The pre-final didn’t go well either, dropped a few places to avoid an accident and ended up finishing 13th. In the final I managed to make up a few places and finished just within the top 10 in tenth.
This concludes what’s been a tough winter championship and our first one at Bayford Meadows. We finished the championship in 8th place out of 25 drivers.
Looking forward to improving our results at Bayford when the 2023 championship starts in April.
