It’s the start of the IKR winter series and we are down at Lydd International circuit. The weather this weekend has been unusually warm for this time of year. It’s a new tyre round so all to play for.
Jacob was fastest in the warm-up session. Fastest in qualifying to secure his first pole position. Battled hard in heat 1 to come across the line in 2nd place. Dove brilliantly in the pre-final to secure his fist heat win in owner karts, which put him back on pole position for the start of the grand-final. The start went well and Jacob handled the pressure from Finlay who was right on his bumper really well. After three laps Finlay managed to get passed but that wasn’t the end of the race, Jacob was stuck to him like glue pushing for the opportunity to get past. They were trading lap times lap by lap and were pretty much identical throughout the whole race.
It was a great race and some brilliant driving. I really enjoyed my battle with Finlay and hope there are many more in the races to come.
