It’s the final round of the LIKC Junior Rotax Championship. We’ve missed two races this season but are well in the lead of the championship. We just need to finish to claim the title.
Qualifying couldn’t have gone any better, fastest lap so we were on pole position but to top that off it was a new lap record.
Race one, made a good start and lead the whole race and then three laps from the end we had to retire the kart due to a fuel pump failure. This puts us to the back of the grid for the pre-final.
Made a great start in the pre-final making up three positions by the first corner, by the third corner I was up into second place and then by the end of lap one was in first place. Lap by lap was creating a gap and won the race comfortably, with another fastest lap of the race.
Heading into the final, on pole position, made a great start, kept my position, lead the race from start to finish finishing well ahead of the rest of the field. Won the race with yet another fastest lap.
It was a good end to the championship and secures us the 2023 championship. Not much time to soak it in as we are heading over to Bayford next weekend for the penultimate round of the BMKR championship.
