As the dust settles from our 2024 championship we are still hard at work with the build of our new chassis and as you read in our previous post, welcoming our new engine partner at the same time, so all change in the JHR team.
Straight after Warden Law we started stripping down our kart in our preparation to move into Senior Rotax for winter testing and the 2025 NKC championship.
This is the 3rd JHR chassis we have competed in and its a complete change, we have a custom painted chassis, all new body panels, every single bolt, nut and washer have been changed so its a real ground up re-build.
The kart build was complete with the bolting on of our new race engine so we were ready for a shakedown test.
Session one of the test consisted of all the usual set-up tweaks, such as throttle adjustments, brake pedal lengths and the odd bolt or two coming loose.
Session two, all the small niggles were sorted and we started to concentrate on set-up as the rear was snapping mid-corner. After adjusting ride widths we sorted that out too.
Sessions 3,4 & 5 were spent getting used to the new kart, new engine and Jacob learning more about his power valve and how to use it.
It was a great shakedown test and we achieved everything we needed to. We now know we have a great starting point for our winter campaign.
Over the winter we will be competing in the LIKC Winter Championship. We are using this championship as a test to keep us race fit and get ourselves as competitive as possible ready for the start of the 2025 NKC championship.
