It’s great to be back at Lydd Kart Circuit, after missing the last two rounds, for round 4 of the LIKC Winter Championship. This is their 2022 championship running into 2023 and has only two rounds left.
The circuit, which has always been good just gets better and better every time we visit. The investment into the circuit and its facilities is very noticeable.
Saturday practice was a challenging day, first of all we had to replace a starter motor, then our rear axel split, then we had to replace an axel bearing and then finally the rear bumper came off. Massive thank you to Steve Firwood for all his help, couldn’t have done it without him.
Sunday didn’t start much better when we had a rear hub failure and the wheel and hub over-took Jacob at just over 50mph, some great car control to spin twice and avoid the barrier, the Marshall was very impressed.
Luckily the races went better and Jacob managed to get from the back of the grid up to 3rd in heat one. Finished heat 2 in 3rd and had a great battle with Alfy to finish 2nd in the grand final…. What a weekend.
It all starts over in a few days as we head back to Bayford Meadows to their winter series.
