This weekend is the start of the BMKR 2023 championship.
Saturday test day started wet & cold. Conditions improved throughout the day and although the afternoon wasn’t wet it was still cold and nothing like the weather predictions for Sundays racing.
Sunday’s qualifying didn’t quite go to plan and I lined up 13th on the grid. On lights out in the first pre-final I held my position and pushed as hard as I could to make up some places. I made up three places and finished the race in 10th.
In the 2nd pre-final I lost a position as the start so dropped to 11th. I held that position throughout the race meaning I will start the final 11th on the grid.
In the final I made an OK start, held my position and throughout the race made up a few positions to 9th. Unfortunately I receive a dropped nose penalty so dropped to the classified 10th.
Not the best of the weekends but at-least it secures some points for the championship. There is a long way to go and I will do my best to master this tricky, technical track.
