It’s the second round of the LIKC 2024/25 winter championship and our second race weekend as a senior. We completely smashed it, pole position, three fastest laps, won all three races and scored maximum points for the second race weekend in a row. That’s now six out of six race wins in a row and maximum 200 points.
Race day as always consisted of a warm up, qualifying, two heat races and a grand final. The track is cold, the temperature is low and the conditions are wet.
Qualifying wen’t well, we put our kart on the front role in pole position with fastest lap of the session.
Heat 1, made a great start keeping the lead into the first corner and pulled out a gap of 8 seconds to the 2nd place driver by the end of the race. We won the race and got fastest lap.
Heat 2, perfect start into the first corner keeping the lead and then gapped second place lap by lap until we were eventually 10 seconds ahead. Crossed the line in first place taking the win and another fastest lap.
Grand final, started in pole, keep the head into the first corner and pulled away quite quickly. Some competitors had put on new wet’s to go faster but we kept our foot down and finished 3.7 seconds ahead of 2nd place taking the win, making it a clean sweep this weekend.
Pole position, 3 fastest laps and 3 race wins in only our second senior race was an excellent achievement. The lap times between the top three were extremely close so the season is going to be a very tight championship.
