To close off testing ready for the 2025 NKC Championship we headed back up north, this time at PFI kart circuit. Data gathering and testing out Mojo tyres was our main focus today. The temperature is 12 degrees, dry with sunny spells so not bad conditions for testing. Only 7 days since our first pre-season test down at Forest Edge we headed north for our second test, this time at Fulbeck kart circuit. Data gathering is essential as we have never run there as a senior and it’s been two years since we were last at the track. We were hoping for the dry, cold but sunny day the weather forecasters had predicted for the last two weeks…. but no, it was cold and wet all day. Straight after the final race of the NKC and Warden Law we started stripping down our kart in our preparation to move into Senior Rotax for winter testing and the 2025 NKC championship. We have purchased a new kart and we have set ourself a target of one week to fully build and prepare our next race challenger, JHR-02. By Tuesday we had picked up our new kart and were stripping the old one. By Thursday we were fitting the seat and setting pedals and by the Saturday she was complete and had run to test everything. August is a quiet month for Championship racing as we only have one official race which it later in the month, so we headed up to Grantham for a test day at PFI. We headed out on our usual Maxxis test tyres but after finding the right gearing set-up etc we decided to bolt on a brand new set of Mojo’s. This was our fourth visit to PFI in recent months. We were testing lots of different kart set-ups. We found a set-up that worked really well for us resulting in a good day. We got faster and faster in each session and ended the day setting a personal best and that was on well used tyres that have done two previous race weekends and two test sessions, so we couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a brand new year and what better way to start it than to get out for the 2023 Buckmore Park New Year Shakedown test. As predicted, the weather was wet and cold but we didn’t let that stop us. We now have a few weeks before we kick off our first Championship of 2023 and the kart will be prepped ready for round 1. We can’t wait to get started. Click here to read full article

After two championship weekends of karting down and Lydd and Bayford Meadows we could have taken this week off to rest…. but not us, we headed up to PFI for a test day. Straight off the back of a podium finish at Lydd last weekend we headed up north for a private test session at Fulbeck Track Circuit. The circuit was privately hired by three of us and as we had the whole circuit to ourselves so could do anything we wanted to. I got a lot of track time and got some good seat time.
